How To

Dome Base Plate Assembly with 300MM Dome
Rockler Bearing - Top Side
Here's how you know what side is up and what side is down
The outer ring should sit flush/ agianst the table top.
This is the surface that will mount to your Droids frame.
The inner ring should sit higher than the table top, allowing it to spin freely.

Rockler Bearing - Bottom Side
Notice the six countersunk holes in the inner bearing.
Countersink holes are for flat head screws. Allowing the screw head to sit flush or below the parts surface.

JAG Dome Base Plate

Rockler Bearing - Bottom Side
Install the quantity 6 flat head screws into the inner bearings countersunk holes.
These are #10-24UNC Flat Head Screws that came with the 300MM Dome.

Rockler Bearing - Top Side
Flip the bearing over so the quantity 6 flat head screws now stick up.

Rockler Bearing - Top Side
Now slide the JAG Dome Base Plate over the quantity 6 flat head screws.
It's a snug fit but it will go.
At this point orienation of the JAG Dome Base Plate does not matter.
There will be some holes left un-used.

Rockler Bearing - Top Side
Now install flat washers, lock washers and hex nuts onto the 6 flat head screws.
The screw size is #10-24UNC.
The washers did not come with the 300MM Dome.
The hex nuts came with the 300MM Dome.
Later on you may have to add washers or nuts to adjust the height of the dome in reguards to the body.

Rockler Bearing - Top Side
Hardware installed and the JAG Dome Base Plate is now attached to the Rockler Bearing.

300MM Dome Nylon Ring
I enlarged the six existing holes with the next size up drill bit.
It looks like the existing holes were around 3/16" diameter.
I used a 13/64" diameter bit to enlarge them all.
The existing holes were a little tight and the Nylon Ring jammed trying to get it on and off.
Check yours first, some might vary.

Now slide the 300MM Dome Nylon Ring over the flat head screws.
The 300MM Nylon Ring should now freely slide on and off without too much play and hangup.

300MM Dome, Bottom Dome Ring.

Slide the 300MM Dome Bottom Ring over the Rockler Bearing.
There should be some play between the ring and the JAG Dome Base Plate.

Slide the 300MM Dome Nylon Ring back onto the screws.

Flip the whole assembly over and remove the Rockler Beaing with JAG Dome Base Plate.
Try not to move the position of the aluminum dome ring in relation to the nylon ring.
You want a nice even space all around the outside of these rings.
Now you drill quantity 6 holes thru the 300MM Dome Bottom Ring and into the Nylon Ring.
I spaced mine about 3/4" away from the existing holes in the Nylon Ring.
I used a small 1/16" drill bit for this.
After each hole I drilled I would slide in some toothpicks.
What this did was hold the two rings into position while I moved onto the next hole I drilled.
This keeps everything aligned better.
Then I went back and made the holes larger in the aluminum ring only, using a 9/64" drill bit.
Then countersunk the holes to accept the screws provided with the 300MM Dome.

I installed the quantity six screws.
Now your 300MM Dome Bottom Ring is attached to the Nylon Ring.

Now the Nylon Rign with the Dome Ring attached will slide over the flat head screws.
Once the Rockler is secure to your frame you'll be able to lift the dome on and off freely.
